BAB, WE'RE BACK! 16 - 22 OCTOBER 2017

FIERCE START PARTY/ Sat 18th June 4pm till Late

Start!!! Start again…

On Saturday 18th June 2011 we’ll be revealing the new Fierce Festival Caravan of Artists (2011-12). Projects we’re developing with these artists will form the core of our next festival programme in spring 2012.

Entry to the Start Party is free and everyone is welcome. There will be live performance, a summer BBQ, music, installations and a cash bar (4pm – late).

At 7pm there’ll be words from Fierce Festival’s Joint Artistic Directors, Laura McDermott and Harun Morrison, leaving plenty of time for a dance before your last train home.

Fierce Festival Start Party @AE Harris, 110 Northwood Street, Birmingham, B3 1SZ. Click here for directions.

Building on the great vibe of the last Start Party – we’ve moved it to Saturday to allow us to really make a day of it.

In 2010 we had families with young children exploring the space, mingling with industry figures and the simply curious. The dancing really kicked off later in the night and kept going till early in the morning.

With our Start Party in June this year – we want to make the most of the weather, if it stays sunny our barbecue delights will not disappoint. Again we return to @AE Harris, the former warehouse space and site of the recent Fierce club performance night, Human Salvage, co-curated with Dominic Johnson.

Having invited a select number of artists to be part of the Fierce Festival Caravan 2011 – 2012, we’ve briefed them to consider how they can make manifest their presence at this event. They may be literally in the room, beer in hand, they may create a performance, put together a DJ set – or perhaps invite you to participate in their project. The Start Party emphasizes the opportunity for you to follow the development of these projects from now till the festival in Spring 2012.

Saturday 18th will be a busy day for Birmingham’s art scene. We recommend you coming earlier to make the most of it. It’s the last day of Ecstatic – a brilliant group show with works by Andy Warhol, Abramovi?/ Ulay, Carolee Schneemann and Mark Leckey. Equally not to be missed is the launch of the Home of Metal exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, celebrating the West Midland’s role in pioneering this genre.

We highly recommend both these events on your way to the Start Party!!!

See you soon.
