SPILL Festival of Performance kicks off in Ipswich in less than 2 weeks!

Empress Stah in Space

From Wednesday 31st October – Sunday 4th November SPILL Festival of Performance will be taking over Ipswich with over 60 pieces of live art and experimental theatre, including Forced Entertainment’s The Coming Storm and the world premiere of Empress Stah in Space – commissioned for SPILL 2012

In addition to this, there will also be the SPILL National Platform – boasting more than 45 uncompromising live works by artists selected from an open call-out generously supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation and presented in partnership with Live Art Development Agency. Fierce are especially pleased about the inclusion of Reynir Hutber who had a fantastic installation at Grand Union earlier this year in Fierce Festival 2012 (Stay Behind the Line) and Fierce Platinum artist Aleks Wojtulewicz in the line up. For only £15 (£10 conc.) you can see up to 20 National Platform artists in a day, or £35 (£20 conc.) to see 46 artists over 3 days of the festival. Visit The New Wolsey Theatre for National Platform Pass information.

Fancy buying a house for a fiver? home sweet home estates will be inviting you to become a resident of Ipswich’s smallest suburb, a cardboard community of neat streets and magnolia houses just waiting to be turned into homes. Come to the Jerwood DanceHouse, choose your plot of land, and build your dream home. Worried about moving to a new place? Don’t be! A notice board, a postal service and even a local radio station will help you settle in. Welcome to the community!

Many of the events throughout the festival are individually priced, but a SPILL Bumper Pass is only £60 (that’s less than £1 per event!) and includes: an invitation to the SPILL Launch (featuring 2 National Platform artists), access to all 3 days of the National Platform, The Coming Storm, Empress Stah in Space, a £5 home sweet home plot, a place at one SPILL Feast, and much more. Why not make a trip of it? Treat yourself to a long weekend in Ipswich, and immerse yourself in SPILL!

Prepare to be shocked and amazed.
