Fun With Cancer Patients launch

On Thursday 12 September the Fun With Cancer Patients exhibition launched at mac birmingham. Cocktails were provided by Blanch & Shock with fresh mint and borage flowers from Edible Eastside. A number of the teenage patients attended the event and took part in the final ‘action’ of the project, a Cancer Disco. They dressed in wigs, medical fancy dress and danced to a playlist compiled by themselves.

Don’t forget that there is also a further event taking place next week as part of the exhibition:

We Have to Talk About Cancer

6:30-8pm, Thursday 19 September. mac birmingham

In this interactive workshop and presentation, six young adults with cancer will facilitate community discussion about ‘the cancer story’ – theirs, yours, ours. Come prepared to talk, to listen, and reflect on this illness that used to be discussed in hushed tones, that is now discussed all the time, and that is still a complete mystery.

This workshop is free to attend. Please go to the mac sales and info desk on 6.30pm on the day. Suitable for 16 +

Fun With Cancer Patients continues until Sunday 6 October 2013.
