In advance of the festival Daniel Belasco-Rogers and Sophia New have installed two drawings displayed in the Terrace Gallery. Since 2007 the artists have been recording everywhere they go with GPSs, these are a record of everywhere that they went in their chosen home town of Berlin in 2009.

For the festival Dan and Sophia are inviting the walkers of Birmingham to help make a living map of Birmingham by wearing a GPS for 24 hours in advance of their performance lecture on Wednesday 23 March at 7pm at mac. GPSs are available now from mac Sales & Information or for more information click here.

You can also book tickets for the performance lecture here.

This was co-commissioned by mac and supported by DCD.

The Irrepressibles: Mirror Mirror

As part of our launch event, we’re extremely pleased to be partnering with Town Hall Birmingham to host The Irrepressibles on Tuesday 22 March, 8pm.

The 10-piece performance orchestra, led by Jamie McDermott on vocals and guitar, create ‘art pop’ that iconoclastically collides musical styles with iconic visual moments into a truly post-modern expression of sound.

‘An enchantingly theatrical pop extravaganza.’ The Sunday Times

This weekend The Irrepressibles are playing at The Barbican and then to Birmingham for this performance.
