Things I liked at Dublin Fringe Festival 2012

Walking We Are Questions, Sorcha Kenny / Live Collision

I was fortunate to spend last weekend in Dublin at the invitation of Dublin Fringe Festival and the Irish Theatre Institute. I’ve attended the last couple of years and always found plenty to discover. Here we first came across Playgroup’s Berlin Love Tour (so well received at this year’s Fierce Festival.)

This visit was no different. Standouts from Ireland based artists were Walking We Ask Questions by Sorcha Kenny – a Live Collision project, a witty but visceral dance theatre piece, Dogs, by Emma Martin Dance and Hipsters We Liked and Met by a consistently intriguing ensemble called The Company. You can also see their work in the forthcoming Dublin Festival.

Finally RSVP by Dublin Youth Theatre and Coney invited you to a house party full of sing-alongs, frenetic dancing and spin-the-bottle antics were interlaced with conscientiously poetic moments of dance and spoken word.

If you get an opportunity to go next year take it!
