Mamalu-Dignity

A workshop using the symbolism of Moana Tatatau as a base to encourage participants to reflect on their own histories and stories. Participants will learn about the cultural meanings  and oral histories embedded in the patterns Rosanna carries on her body and how this has influenced her own art practice. Participants will discuss issues of ownership and appropriation of cultural heritage and the significance of tatatau in Moana today. Over the course of the workshop we will draw, write and embody the works created in the workshop, working together to install and present their explorations publicly.
